Dr. Elliott’s Philosophy of Care
The greatest privilege, by far, is being allowed into the most vulnerable aspects of a patient’s life, to be entrusted with their fears and concerns, and help them navigate their own path to health. That trust placed in me is treated with a tremendous amount of respect and serves as the bond to always do what’s best for the patient. I strive to know my patients, and not just their medical history, but the little details–and over time, life stories– that make them who they are. In doing so, care transforms from generic to personalized.
Because at the end of the day, primary care, above all else, is about relationships. I believe in the healing quality of those relationships—the type where you can talk about anything, the type where you are seen, deeply seen. I chose primary care for the chance to partner with others in their personal journey, cheering them on as they work towards a goal but also being fully present and supportive in their time of need. It is this relationship that I find most rewarding and allows for the necessary kindness and healing to be woven into the art of caring for others.
