We’re Out
Dr. Gurley is one of the few out gay providers in Atlanta. So is most of our team. If you’re LBGT, that means you can get healthy – and feel calm – without hiding.
About 50 percent of gay men are not out to their doctors. The main reason is fear.
- How do you come out to your doctor if you suspect they might be homophobic?
- Will he or she out you to your family and co-workers?
- Your insurance company? Will they deny you care, ask you to see another doctor, or give you inferior care?
These are real fears that we understand.
We’re First
Whether it’s using PrEP to prevent HIV or under-the-skin pellets to treat low testosterone, we’re always embracing new, innovative treatments — and usually among the first in Atlanta to make them available.
For example, we are the first and only private medical practice in Atlanta to perform the High Resolution Anoscopy (HRA). This is an in-house procedure that is used to detect and treat certain anal cancers. This means our practice is on the leading edge of screening, detecting and treating anal cancer, which can be prevalent in the gay community or with anyone else who may be at risk.
We’re Inviting
Forget cold, clinical walls that feel impersonal and fuel anxiety. Our warm, wood tones and artisan brick walls create a calming, reassuring atmosphere that will make you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Clinical settings make people nervous. So we took out the white walls and everything that looked cold and impersonal. We know there is enough anxiety in a doctor’s visit without having an atmosphere that encourages worry.
From the moment you see the warm, blond wood flooring and the artisan brick walls you’ll feel your shoulders relax. Click the video to get a virtual tour of our beautiful office in the heart of the Studioplex Lofts.
